Responsible for: Art direction & design of all campaign elements to include art directing and overseeing the animation & edit process for the TV production.

Vidant Health was looking to announce the opening of  its nautically-themed children’s hospital expansion in eastern North Carolina. To assist with the grand re-opening, we created digital, TV, radio and outdoor elements.

We also wanted to communicate that the facility was especially designed with kids and families in mind. They had incorporated marine-themed décor and new technology such as touch screen video monitors, ceiling projection for imaging rooms and home comforts for families staying extended amounts of time. These are all special touches designed to take the “scary” out of being treated at the hospital. And we thought the creative to promote the hospital should too.

The Children’s Hospital outdoor advertising won gold at the Healthcare Advertising Awards and the TV spot won a silver Wallie Award, a bronze Telly Award and a bronze Aster Award.

In addition to the whimsical children’s hospital creative, I worked on the development of two more corporate pieces for the hospital – their annual report and the first issue of their medical report. To view the full PDF for each, click on the covers in the images below.
